Key differences

Both devices offer similar logic capacity: 570K and 554K LUT4 equivalents.

They use different logic architectures: the GX 850 is built from ALMs and the XC7VX550T from LUT6, so the raw LUT counts (285K vs 346K) are not directly comparable.

For arithmetic, the XC7VX550T has 2,880 DSP slices against 2,016 variable-precision DSP blocks on the GX 850.

The GX 850 has more on-chip memory (68 Mb vs 41.5 Mb).

Both have transceivers: 48 at up to 28.3 Gb/s on the GX 850 and 80 at up to 13.1 Gb/s on the XC7VX550T.

The GX 850 is designed with Altera Quartus Prime and the XC7VX550T with AMD Vivado.
